Take Out Meals – Sports Bar, Maun (April 2009)

After a night camping and four hours driving home I didn’t feel much like cooking so I went to Sports Bar, Maun.  Officially the kitchen opens at 6.30pm on a Sunday and I arrived at 6pm, but since the staff were there it wasn’t a problem to make a couple of pizzas and some chips.

While I waited I was able to have cold beer and watch Transworld International Sport on satellite TV.

Dining Out – Audi Camp, Maun, Botswana (April 2009)

Audi Camp is one of my preferred venues for dining out: the atmosphere is pleasant and the food is reasonable.

Crispy Roast Potatoes

We like our potatoes roasted:  parboil them with the skins on, then drain, transfer to an oven tray and baste with oil.

The problem was that we couldn’t get them really crispy.  Then in a conversation with my brother all became clear.
